ASL "You Raise Me Up"

I've now started a new blog for my sign language journey. Click on the link to the right under my profile picture. I've decided to leave this one on here because I can't seem to move it over without losing all your wonderful comments. :O) In the meantime, you can watch this one here...

This is my first try at recording myself doing a song in American Sign Language. I just love the language. It's so beautiful and expressive.

And I absolutely love this song! I hope you like it.

Here's the lyrics:

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up... To more than I can be.

  1. Looks awesome, but makes me realize how rusty I have gotten with the signing skills I have. Guess I need to get back to LifePrint.com as well....
